Hi,

My girlfriend (Irish) and I (Canadian) will soon be moving to Australia on working holiday visas. We're currently deciding where might be the best place to start out. We've both traveled a fair bit already ; we aren't making the trip purely as a 'vacation', but more so as a means to be together. In other words, we understand that Australia will cost us a good bit of money in the long run. We're hoping to find steadier types of jobs that might hold up for as long as possible (near the 6 month limit on such visas).Any suggestions for finding work / are there any companies with strong reputations for foreigner-hirings? Is Brisbane good first choice? How do apartment rentals usually work?

Any help will be apprecited.
